If you don't realize how much you are stretching then you'll wind up a pretzel.

Trump was already doing business with these folks and the fact that they want to do more, whether motivated by their previous success with his brand or the perception that the brand is strengthened by his becoming president is neither relevant nor un-ethical.

If he were to use his governmental power (which he actually doesn't yet possess) on their behalf in exchange for business or personal gain then you have a point.
