Carnival Cruise out of New Orleans or Galveston

Wanting to book a cruise in February 2017. What are your thoughts on sailing out of New Orleans vs Galveston?

Nola unless at Mardi Gras. Then I would go to Galveston as the NOLA cruises seem to be one extra trashy. It also depends on your itinerary. I like the Belize, Roatan, Cozumel 7 day cruise.

We did the Carnival Cruise out of New Orleans for 7 nights.
Snaking through the Miss River the first night out and the night you come back is okay but Galveston would be quicker into the Gulf.
Living in LA obviously we are not doing a cruise for the port of New Orleans like others on the trip do.
You can go to the same places out of Galveston so mainly your preference.
We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel and enjoyed it.
