The only viable way to attack the US is through large EMP attacks coordinated to take out our electrical grid coupled with tactical nukes with the hope that we dont get to many birds back up in the air.. You cut our communications and electrical....society will fall and turn into every man for himself in no time.. It will take time to get that going again and if strategic forces are launched, then you could see large portions taken under occupation.. What would happen next would be up to the areas left untouched and whatever skeleton of a government was still cobbled together.. Most areas would splinter off and try to cut deals to preserve what was left..
