I visit there a few times a year. I fished the Tchefuncte (sp) in Covington and got into some small spotted bass.
Looking to try the salt or some brackish. What about Lacombe Bayou, Fountainbleu state park, Bayou Cane?

geohagen canal/Rigolets marina- you may be able to find so refuge from the wind in the marsh nearby

We fish mostly salt.
The first time we used the kayaks we went down Bayou Cane and caught a few small bass.
