Chip isn't a nice guy. Who cares? If he wins people will love him.

The issue I have with Kelly is that he has a really bad reputation regarding recruiting, that he doesn't like doing it and not great at it. I have no clue if that is the case but if it is true I don't think you can be that way and be successful in the SEC. Now how did he build the Ducks program to where it was prior to his departure, which he made a BCS bowl all 4 years he was HC and was 1 minute away from winning a NC. So those facts and not recruiting well as a HC don't jive in my opinion, but if it is true that won't work in the SEC.

Chip closed on a lot of good recruits. When Chip did an in-home, our success was great. So, he's not a bad recruiter. He just doesn't like prima donnas. He will flat out tell them he's gonna win without them regardless and see if they will change their tune. The good news is he will fill your team with guys that aren't me first.

If he wasn't very good at it he wouldn't have had the talent to fuel those explosive teams at Oregon. How much he enjoys it is up for some debate apparently but his results would lead me to believe that he gets the talent he needs.
