Buy a midline new bow from Bear or PSE before you buy a used bow. Being new to archery you won't be able to work on the bow yourself and you may regret buying used and not having a warranty.
As far as stands/sticks, for a mile walk I'd recommend Hawk Helium sticks paired with a Millennium lock on. You can't beat Millennium stands for comfort.
My setup is a M100U with 4 Hawk Heliums and I can get 20' pretty easily.

A few of the Mission bows are fully adjustable without a bow press.
