I realize this is a deviation from the intent of this thread, but Greg Schiano left in January of '12, while Penn State collapsed in November of '11.
I do sometimes wonder what might have happened if Schiano had stuck around for an extra year or two, in terms of recruiting in NJ / eastern PA.

Maybe. Traditionally Rutgers has never pulled those recruits so I'm not sure he would make a difference.
