Also, tons of other things - like music. You can stream all you want most of the times, but a lot of times you just can't. Download spotify playlists offline and you're good. Also may not have access to WiFi to upload recent videos/photos to the cloud all the time. CAD must not travel very much and must not realize that a lot of times, you have no access to the internet.

Exactly. All of my music is streamed through Spotify, but if I'm on a plane or don't want to use data, I can now download as many songs as I'd like to be stored locally on the phone. I didn't have that luxury before.
I upload all of my photos/videos to the Amazon cloud. But if I want to download an album to make it easier to show people, I have that as an option.
While it's possible to get away with having a 16gb phone and relying on streaming/cloud sources to store everything, it makes it easier when you have the option to store things locally on your own device.
