i had always believed the opposite, but then again the last two projectors i saw it felt like i was at the movies. it was incredible. 100% reversal for me. Brighter, sharper, smoother. Nothing to debate- get the projector

If you paint the walls gray, you don't need the screen.
Less installation headache, less cost.
I have a $300 ViewSonic 720p projector, and it's a monster for sporting events.
I bought an HDMI splitter, a 50' HDMI cable and a bracket to mount my projector. All in was less than $500.
