LSU continues to turn heads in D1A, and while advancing in the D1A playoffs is a major goal for the program this year, the Tigers have the added conference championship appearance to now focus on in three weeks time. The squad also remained perfect in the conference with their latest win against the Aggies.
Using their 27-17 loss to #8 Arkansas State as motivation, the Tigers’ new found confidence showed on the scoreboard. They were led by freshman hooker Hunter Breit, who recorded two tries and four conversions. Alec Miller was close behind with two tries of his own, and scored first for LSU in the 5th minute.
For A&M, a try in the 15th minute kept the game close for most of the first half, but the one-two punch of Breit and Miller gave LSU a comfortable 21-5 lead at the half. The Aggies responded in the opening minutes of the second half to make it 21-10, but it was all Tigers after. Two more scores in the 65th and 69th minute sealed it for LSU.
While the Louisiana State hopefuls shift to championship mode, Texas A&M’s regular season comes to a close with the loss.
