I've read reviews about it and that was exactly mentioned. They also say the movie is more like a blockbuster than a factual rendition of what happened. Doesn't really dig into the lives of the people affected either.

Ive got a little insight to the movie and sorry for bumping this thread but it hit home. The character Mark Walhberg is portraying is the main character in the movie and he plays a guy that basically couldn't find his way around a rig. He was green as green can be an only moved into an electricians position by "staying up under a desk". He was one of the first ones to take off running crying like a baby yet he sold his soul to Hollywood to make a dollar. He was no hero at all. The real heroes lost their lives and the others who attempted to save them.
I know tl;dr but context basically is main character is a coward and should never show his face again around real oil field hands
