Save a lot of time, energy and money. Make the interim coach the permanent head coach. You will not find a coach that will work harder and he will win a lot of games. He will also do an outstanding job when it comes to recruiting.

Only LSU fans would see a powerplay relieving its winningest coach from power resulting in hiring the guy that wasn't good enough for Ole Miss. Bebe isn't getting this job unless LSU can't persuade a top candidate to take it. Period. Everyone needs to get over it. Bebe is going to springboard a successful interim gig into being the coach at Kentucky or the like.

This board can be frustrating with the "Louisiana man" logic. For frick's sake.

I think the Miles supporters have turned into Coach O supporters. I think they just like who ever we have at the time and are afraid of change.

Everyone on this Board is like, "LSU is a top 2 job in the country, yuck yuck yuck," then they pine for a guy who can't get a coordinator job and did probably the worst job of any head candidate not named Rod Marinelli with his one shot. If the job is so great, we're going to do a lot better on paper than guy who is from Louisiana who maxed out as a position coach.
Also, for fricks sake, he hasn't even coached a game at LSU yet. People want to crown the guy because of a press conference and they are afraid of losing him when he doesn't get the job. Here's the deal. LSU recruited before O got here. It will recruit after that. fricking Tom Herman is the first guy EVER to bring a 5 star recruit to a non-power five school. I think we'll be ok.

Ole Miss hasn't exactly been a powerhouse of any kind until the last few years. How many coaches didn't win more than 8 games a season? Ole Miss may have been LSU's biggest rival for a few decades but they were nowhere the national power they seem to be today. There isn't another coach that can recruit Louisiana better than Coach O.

What kind of fan makes a knee-jerk decision on the interim coach without him even coaching a single game yet? Not one I'm going to take advice from on who should be the head coach at LSU.

I think we over value the head coach position honestly
The person hires great Assistance, and is the face of recruiting from a team stand point. He is the culture setter for the team as well (energy and toughness) He is also responsible for game management or getting someone competent to help.
The rest of the time is radio, and courting donors.
I am much more concerned about who we get at OC. I think Aranda is going to be a really good coach as well.

what do you want in a Head Coach
- someone that will give 100% to job and do it the right way
- someone that can bring in the Louisiana talent 1st and cherry pick the very best from other areas
- someone that brings fire each week to the field
- someone that brings in a top staff and lets them coach
Coach O failed at Ole Miss - not sure I can name one failed x-coach in the SEC to be hired as a new Head coach at a SEC team. I could be wrong but if Coach O wins out this season I am not sure even that will allow him to win the Head coaching job. If winning out means he wins the SEC he would be very hard for me not to give him the team.
So say what you want but I think Coach O knows what he has to do and he came close to doing it at USC. I lived in SoCal for 6 years and most USC fans wish they had kept Coach O in hind sight but of course that is hind sight.

You're right Rick. Total knee jerk reaction from a fan who has no knowledge of football or the history of LSU football over the past 50 years.

i'm convinced this board would want Farmer Fran as head coach if he all did was give a press conference that pumped coonasses up

I'm not sure we do. Josh McDaniels, Romeo Crennel, Charlie Weiss, Derek Dooley, Will Muschamp, Jim McElwain, Mike Bobo, Bobby Williams, Lane Kiffin, Norv Turner, Chan Gailey, and the list goes on and on prove otherwise.

Well that didn't take long.
I guess there is something in the genes of negatigers that requires them to post dumb shite no matter who the coach is.
I would have thought that you snowflakes would have at least waited until the first 3 and out before you lit your torches and grabbed your pitchforks.
