old, but didn't see this posted
2 americans make list
quote:
Clint Dempsey: He was always going to be in the team somewhere, the only question was which position you’d prefer to see him occupy - on the wing was where he got the most votes. Fulham record: 224 apps, 60 goals
quote:
Brian McBride: Another of our former Captains to make the all-time Fulham Premier League XI, Brian was one of the most committed individuals ever to turn out at the Cottage and he subsequently earned more votes than any other forward. Fulham record: 153 apps, 40 goals

Really cool thanks for posting. I don't know a lot about the history of Fulham and players from the clubs past, but I'm a bit surprised their fans voted 2 Americans in their best ever XI.
I tend to forget what great careers and lasting impact Deuce and McBride had at Fulham. I was much younger and hadn't gotten into soccer as much when McBride was playing, but I remember the Dempsey Fulham years very fondly. Saturday and Sunday mornings are a lot more fun when there's an American or two to look forward to watching who's actually scoring goals and really making an impact in the Premier League. Or in any of the major leagues, for that matter.

Brian McBride is a legend to the members of the club and supporters. No two questions about it. I think they even have a pub named in his honor at Craven Cottage.
E.J. is regarded as almost a bust. He did very little for the club, and his stay is epitomized by a terrible whiff at Upton Park when he couldn't even get a shot off with only the keeper within five yards of him.
While born in Houston, everyone considers Hangeland to be Norwegian.
