iPhone 6 screen out

My wife's screen has appeared to go out. I can feel the phone vibrate so I know it powers on. Unfortunately it is out of warranty. Should I take it in for repair or have it miraculously go missing under insurance? TIA.

Did you try to do a hard reset (holding down sleep and home button)? The software may have just crashed, this happened to a coworker recently and the hard reset fixed it. Hope this helps.

Sorry guys, been away. Yes tried the hard reset. I filed a claim and got a new one yesterday.
