not sure what our SS has to do with getting an All-Pro FS, but okay.....
He played less than 10% of snaps at free safety last year. I believe they started him off in that role coming back from injury this year, but it isn't where he has had his success. Certainly didn't become an all-pro from the free safety position.
He plays corner more than anything, followed by strong safety. He and Vaccaro have similar roles on the team, although TM7 is on a different level (than most players). He wouldn't have worked out in New Orleans unfortunately. Going to Arizona and getting out of Louisiana was huge for him as a person.

He's played 68 percent of his snaps as a slot corner, 24 percent at strong safety and eight percent as a free safety, according to Pro Football Focus. Making him the highest-paid safety saves the Cardinals some money compared to making him the highest-paid cornerback; the average annual value for the four highest-paid cornerbacks starts at $14 million.
