A travesty this isn't an afternoon kick with college gameday hype.
While I was thinking it'd be a 3:30 game or so (or at least on ABC/ESPN even at Noon), but I will say it works out great for my schedule that day :csb:

These teams have won the conference more than any programs have recently. Can't remember the last time a team like Michigan or Nebraska or Iowa or Penn State won the conference. (Ok, yes it has been 12 years since Michigan won a championship) It has been Bucky and Sparty and Brutus for a long time.
Nebraska was in the game in 2012 but got destroyed by UW, but that was a weird year with the legends/leaders crap and also PSU/OSU were restricted from playing CG or bowls.

The winner will have 2 huge wins under their belt already in September.
I'm pretty excited about the game honestly.

Wisconsin is not a top program and not a good draw for television so that is why it's not a 2:30pm game. Penn State with its recent bad history and Michigan will make for a better national audience than seeing Michigan State blow out Wisconsin.
If MSU was playing Michigan or Penn State it would be the afternoon game.
