Against Ole Miss, Bama, and Arkansas, they struggled.

"Struggled" is putting it mildly. They absolutely stunk up the field.

They were facing injuries at that point and also were pretty much in just pass protection

All offensive lines face injuries. It comes with playing in the offensive line. As for just being in pass protection, Fournette carried 19 times against Alabama for 31 yards. And, if they could do their jobs, maybe we wouldn't have been so far behind in those games. And, finally, pass protection is part of the job of an offensive line. If they absolutely blow at that, then they cannot be considered "good", "solid" or any of the other complimentary words you used for them. This unit is bad. Seriously bad. Like, so bad it might take years to fix.

You can't ignore their effectiveness for 85% of the season however.

They piled up numbers against crappy teams and flopped every time they faced a good one, with the exception of Florida. They were also very sloppy with penalties, which Clapp's false start that led to the loss of the Wisconsin game demonstrates has not been fixed.
