The baby was 7lbs, so that may be a little light but still pretty much full term. She works and lives constantly surrounded by people including many situations of limited to no privacy (berthing, heads, etc..).

I know I'm speculating and that some women show more than others during a pregnancy, but for this to go full term undetected on a forward deployed carrier almost requires her base condition to be somewhat (to very) overweight - and I saw plenty of that in my navy days.

In fact, if she's like some of the people I knew she may have been trying to eat her way out of active duty and is now pissed off that she just lost 7lbs.

Having a giant gunt can make it harder to notice a pregnant belly.
