From the stands, the Golden Band from Tigerland also played a tastefully beautiful melody of such classics from KC and the Sunshine Band as Shake Your Booty and I'm Your Boogie Man. Made me rather misty-eyed for my younger days.

I'm a "regular fan". No band experience, just enjoy watching them at the games.
I thought the band yesterday we as great (LSU's). It did look a little thinner in ranks than previous years, by I thought the show was good. Especially for one performed on relatively short notice.
JSU band was louder, but I prefer the style of LSU in terms of overall performance. The JSU band casually walked onti the field and git in formation. My 11 year old daughter thought that was strange, since she is used to seeing LSU March onto the field in formation.
One thing I always notice is the perpetual inability of LSUs band to march in a straight line. Last night I actually saw straight lines as the band crossed over the yard lines. It wasn't 100% perfect, but it was markedly improved from years past.
After one game, I would say it looks like the band is going to be just fine.
