I am supposing it is legal in that state if he got it at a store. I just was commenting that the poster that said it was illegal is correct, it is against the law at the Federal Level.
It is a felony to purchase in a legal state and move it to another state, even if it is legal in both states.

The bigger issue is that marijuana is a banned substance by the league, and most NFL athletes have admitted to the fact that smoking weed (especially right before a game) has an effect on your on-field performance. I can only imagine the effects of long-term smoking on professional athletes and their performance

No, its not. Federal law supercedes state law, so according to the DEA and the rest of the feds, it is illegal in all states...which illustrates how stupid this is...which is why i say repeal fed law, decriminalize & let the states decide how they want to regulate the medical and recreational use of weed.
