Coach, don't act like a bunch of dealers don't hammer people. If the general public knew how many different ways a dealerships makes money, they'd punch the salesman in the eye, hit the sales manager in the head with a keyboard, and throat punch the finance manager.

How about you lay it all out for us just this one time. Please include explanations of holdback; finance reserve; how much markup is added to warranties, gap, ect; the quota bonuses from the manufacturer; the bonuses from the finance companies; etc.

If youre bored, you can also explain some of the dirty shite that your salesman, sales managers, and finance managers use to confuse/trick the customer.

And just for skits and giggles, you can add examples of some of the 6 figure annual income that most sales and finance managers, and some salesman, make.

If the people at the dealership do things the right way, I do not begrudge them their pay. I would not want to work until 7pm AND Saturdays. If they have it so good you might want to consider a career change? I can assure you, working and meeting a sales quota is a Bitch. (Not a car salesman and none in family). $100k is not that great in today's world.

Why is it dirty for a salesmen to make a profit or a Dealershipn but then you go buy "Beats headsets" that cost $12 to make and you pay$199?
