You mean to tell me that if I were to pull up the past 5 years at Alabama, he would have the same exact numbers as you stated above for each position?

Yes. That's what I mean to tell you. Go look. I've done it for years. Remember that the numbers I quoted don't quite add up to a full class. So Saban will have extras at some positions. Take into account that he might only have three linebackers, but he has a 6'-2" 225 lb "athlete" committed.

The way he does it is like this: Let's say he's going to recruit a minimum of four offensive linemen. Half way through the recruiting cycle he has four. Maybe only three are publically committed, but he has his worst case oline class in the bag. He keeps recruiting the best guys, and as they commit he processes the good-but-not-great guys he had in the bag. That's how we got Andy Dodd, btw.
