Next steps after insurance classes

I'm taking my classes online for Insursnce Sales. What are my next steps prior to me finishing ?
Any advice on direction would be great. I'd love to be an independent salesman that can offer many company policies rather then just stick with one primary company

I made the swap about two years ago to independent. Best part about it is you don't ever have to tell people no you cannot cover someone
