I have a family member with DS. She is the most loving person in the world. However, what you said is true. She has had major heart complications and leukemia, which are both extremely prevalent in DS. She is a joy that I know my Aunt and Uncle love, but I would be lying if I said it didnt completely change and shape their lives. That basically defines them now, as well as her sisters life.
