Does it really matter what you shoot it with? Most people that hunt aren't really hunters they are waiters. They wait until a deer walks into the foodplot or up to their corn pile.

Unless you are out collecting wood and flint rock and making your own bow and arrows it doesn't matter

The tool isn't as important as the method in my opinion

Pretty sure the original "hunter gatherers" of the world also found what their prey ate, and where they traveled and set up to ambush them. You can't say it's not hunting. Just different methods. We all have the opportunities to make hunting as easy as legally possible. Some just prefer to make it more challenging for the sport of it

To me it does. It's not a bad thing that people's opinions vary on this. We aren't all going to agree 100%. If I was starving and needed to put meat on the table I would do whatever I could to get it as easily as possible. But I'm not and I don't have to. I hunt because I enjoy all it has to offer and it's a form of sport and entertainment, not survival. As I get older and accomplish more I will continue to challenge myself and maybe some day I will have met my goal with a compound bow and move to a recurve. Maybe even eventually make my own as you suggested.

If a crossbow gets someone in the outdoors and they enjoy it then more power to them. As I stated before I was raised with the mentality that bow hunting was a different style of hunting and not just a different weapon.

I'll take "never bow hunted" for $1000, Alex.
