Most folks don't realize that NBR is in large measure fueled by tax money generated by South Baton Rougeans already. So to say that NBR "needs to be propped up," and then balk at it is to ignore the disparity in tax revenues.

In the City Parish of Baton Rouge, they're generated by and large in South Baton Rouge, and they're expended in North Baton Rouge. I'm not saying South Baton Rouge doesn't receive tax revenue or public services as a result. I'm saying that the majority of the tax revenue generated by South Baton Rouge is used to provide public services throughout the City Parish, including North Baton Rouge.

South Baton Rouge foots the bill for the entire City Parish in other words.

Let's look at it simply from a public school stance.

Gary rails on and on about how the upper middle class white people of SBR want to abandon the poor black kids and their public schools despite the fact that those people pay for their children's private education, thus freeing up 100% of their public school taxes that will go to black kids in NBR. He should be saying thank you to those private school parents for paying into that system and taking absolutely nothing out of it.

Most of the schools in NBR aren't that bad, it's the students that are bad.
