-Robbie G's
-Camp Livingston (Hunting)
-Two hours away from any major town in state other than New Orleans. Easy to get to entertainment venues.
-We're not having quite the murder problems that Baton Rouge is having.
-90 Minutes from Toledo Bend.
-Good place to raise family.
-Good place to retire.
-Good place to maintain low profile if you're working high profile in other towns.
-We have an accredited zoo.
-We have a ballet company.
-We have an area symphony.
-We have a museum.
-Actually, with the Hotel Bentley coming back up, things are slowly building back up around it.
-Once the Louisiana Community and Technical College re-locates downtown, it will spur additional business growth.
-Cost of living is reasonable.
-No, it's not a major metropolis, but it is an ok small town.

It's funny how like every 10-15 years somebody gives it a go of reopening that place, only to shutter it up again 2-3 years later. It's a pretty interesting building to be in the middle of downtown Elick, though.
