They're also conscripting people living under their rule, and they routinely execute fighters who refuse to advance when ordered, or retreat without orders. Anecdotal reports from Iraq suggest that a large proportion of the ISIS fighters they face on some fronts in Iraq are conscripted soldiers with poor morale, training, and resolve. This could be one reason why ISIS is crumbling in Iraq.
