Not sure if this has already been posted, but according to my insurance slinging wife:
1. She has 63 days from the time her husband's company dropped her to get her own insurance with her employer. This is considered a "life changing" event and she would not have to wait for open enrollment.
2. If it's been more than 63 days, she needs to finalize the divorce ASAP. This would also be considered a special circumstance and would start the 63 days over again. The reason she was denied Medicaid is because she is still married, so her income mostly likely included both hers and her husband's.
Hope this helps.
