How about you add this little tidbit to the OP. There's the fricking problem, she had 60 days to get on her own insurance and was lazy and didn't. You call someone this dumb a friend?

There is a ton of misinformation or outright lies this woman has given the OP. She has had ample time to get her affairs in order and unless her employer truly lied to her about the qualifying event, then she's up shite creek.
The silver lining might be that if it is a healthy pregnancy, and she isn't due until 2017, perhaps she can go to one appointment out of pocket and then defer everything else to 2017 when she's on her own insurance. Don't mistake that for medical advice, but in my experience the check ups during the pregnancy are largely useless in most cases, but obviously they're looking out for other risks.
