I've seen the Trading update announced, not a battle system yet. If they add in a battle system then this game will exceed every expectation and more.

It really needs a battle system.
That has to be coming IMO.
You nailed it though, battle system plus the outside collecting aspect would take this thing to even more heights.

In the original video, this as well as mass battles with Legendary Pokemon were promised. We are for all intents and purposes in the Beta version of this game. There's so much more shite they can add to this game that it's nuts.
Imagine if they put Team Rocket in to challenge you randomly to battles. Imagine if every city had an Elite 4 you could build yourself up to. They could rent out huge bars for whenever they put Mewtwo into play. Then of course they can release Gen II Pokemon and beyond. It is really the most limitless mobile game of all time.
