Parents are a huge factor, of course. But these kids today are so overwhelmed with media misrepresentations of all sorts and when you combine that with our shitty educational system, they have these kid's ear every bit as much or more than parents do. And some of the hip hop music over the past twenty five years is hugely corrosive and counteracts much of the positive influence that parents try to have over their kids, unfortunately.
