I agree with this. First all the hatemongering that goes on (RE: media narratives and social media echo chambers), day to day interactions for me and mine irl have been as undisturbed as ever.

Actually things are way better now than ever. But the media thrives on fear and division. Showing the good in the world doesn't sell papers or get eye balls or clicks/shares/likes/comments.
So basically the question posed by OP is based on a false premise
