I'm not 100% sure but I think you are correct, OP.
Bolting that hitch on is going to be a PIA so if you use it more than 3-4 times a year I'd look at alternative solutions.
It doesn't bottom out as you're exiting? Is there enough room to turn around in your drive way? If so, maybe you could back in?
Also what would need to be done to modify your driveway enough to fix this? It's not like you're driving a low rider or something unusual. Maybe bust up 15 ft or so of your driveway and have it repoured in a more gradual incline?
