Cover is the amount of concrete "covering" the rebar.

Clearance is the space between the rebar and forms or dirt grade.

Spacing is the distance between the rebar.

They're just considering it from top of bar only. What you're talking about is still considered cover.

Really, it's the all the same, since they're almost never differentiated in the specs/plans. I know I've written hundreds of reports in site manager and used them interchangeably. People generally just call it one ouror the other. It's the first time I've had a pm want both referred to.


In all reality, I think I'm just dealing with a man hating lesbian that wants to argue. Which is strange to me, because I have many lesbian friends in Nola, and this is the first time I've dealt with that.
