most major ancient civilizations have a similar story of a great flood
Dont dismiss it just because you dont want to believe the Bible. Im not saying thats exactly what happened, just offering another theory.

Pretty much every story in the Old Testament of The Bible and other religious books are in the Sumerian tablets which predate any and all other writings.
