They announced hardware two years from the market? And yes Sony is worried about console sales, they all are otherwise they're in the wrong business.

Ok a year and a half, again nobody does this other than maybe Sega back in the day and I can't even remember.

If they didn't then people would claim they sold them an s and fricked them over. They are being transparent right now and I know it would leak anyway. Right now they are messaging better than Sony. Just because this isn't common doesn't mean it's bad.

It's not bad just desperate.

Like you confuse me so much. People want a more powerful console and it looks like they are bringing the most powerful console to market. What is desperate about it?

Announcing it this far in advance is the only thing desperate about it. I commend them for pushing hardware, but just bare specs and nothing to show almost two years away seems like a hail mary.

They announced a console that likely going to absolutely kill the sales of their current console and the console they announced at that same damn conference. That is like the opposite of desperate, that's only something you do from a position of power (or you don't really give much of shite about hardware sales.....).
And hell we know more about Scorpio than we do Neo, which is coming out before Scorpio.

Also interesting neo may still come this year. Yea I love the way Sony is handling this...
Similar to Apple, announce and release shortly after. It's also by reports not a generational gap.

So basically the exact opposite to each of their E3 conferences the last few years?

Not sure what you're getting at, it's also a rumor.

Their E3 conferences the last few years have basically been here is a game that is coming out sometime within the next 2-5 years.

Considering all games will run on Scorpio and current one Xbox isn't really launching a generation either.
Posted on 6/19/16 at 12:00 pm to Mr Gardoki
I'm pretty sure the tagline for Scorpio was something like "Beyond Generations"

Microsoft has made a point of showing games coming out the current year or soon after. Sony on the other hand has shown some games that are years away or may never come.

Which honestly given the position they are in makes perfect sense.
