But you are taking a max contract back compared to a rookie deal. It's not just the third pick Boston is giving up. It's who they could sign with the money as well.

Boston has the cap space to take on two max contracts plus with the cap to go up soon, I don't think that is a big deal. Even with a trade withe Love, the C's could still go get Durant (highly unlikely but still hoping) or another big time free agent.

You're right, but even if you include that cap space Kevin Love is worth the #3 pick and then some.

Put it this way, even if you think Love is never going back to his Minnesota days, he's one of 4 guys in the NBA who averaged at least 16 points and 10 boards on 50% eFG% or higher. The other 3 are KAT, Anthony Davis, and Andre Drummond, and Kevin Love had the highest Win Share out of the group. You'd be fricking ecstatic if the 3rd pick ends up as good as Love.
