They bother because they were raised that way, and from what I have experienced, a good reason. (Usually) Marriage supports bonding, power, and growth from compatible families as you stated in the first point. While the second, that lust/love is involved, is also true, it doesn't mean that all marriages have evolved to that point that the first time love is lost they give up. When I look around affluent neighborhoods, at least where I am from, most of the successful and admired families are happily married w/ children (if they can). I will agree that at a lot of times you may not be happy in that marriage, but the same applies for single/divorced people when they are home alone.. Each has it's benefits, all because you are unwilling to commit doesn't mean it's a bad choice. This is coming from a single person, so I really don't know how bad marriage is btw
