My wife doesn't really get the 'fine dining' experience either. When we used to do weekends in N.O., I would geek out about planning brunches, lunches and dinners to make sure we hit all the high points- she couldn't care less, as long as we ate when we were hungry. Some people like the fine dining experience and like to be able to try foods that they can't get at their local establishment, like carpaccio or rabbit- Some people are just more interested in filing their bellies for energy. the experience is all in what you make it. Enjoy the time with your family/friends and appreciate that you have the ability to enjoy the finer things in life, like fine dining.
