Police arrived at the home in the 2400 block of Pearson Parkway shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the request of Los Angeles police, said Brooklyn Park Police Deputy Chief Mark Bruley.

A woman was found inside dead from a gunshot wound, Bruley said."The welfare check was related to the recent shooting investigation on the campus of the University of California Los Angeles,” Bruley’s statement read.

“Early indications are the shooting occurred prior to the UCLA event,” Bruley continued. He did not say whether the person implicated in the UCLA shooting is responsible for the death in his city.

Brooklyn Park police said they intend to say more at a news conference Thursday at noon.
