The guy who basically created the NCAA is on record talking about how messed up the system is.

shel, it cannot happen under the current construct of the game. You know that and I know that. Title IX is a major inhibitor, plus there simply isn't enough money to go around to make it equitable. You would effectively sentence 70% of FBS schools to their death under that kind of system.
No elite kid is going to commit to University of Houston when A&M or LSU is going to pay him. That is not the kind of CFB landscape that would be enjoyable to me and many other fans out there.
Is it socialistic? Yeah, definitely, but I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that I like my sports leagues socialistic. It is what it is.
