You laugh at canelo but weren't you shitting on ggg for the same reason?

Is this the new fad in boxing, just these boxers doing what they want without giving a crap about regulations?

Sort of. There are similarities and differences between the two. Main difference here is Canelo told GGG's team to feel his nuts, said he wasn't scared of GGG and he would fight him, and then turns around and drops the belt so he doesn't have to fight him. Really?

With Golovkin, he said he wanted the 168 fighters and went after Chavez Jr and Froch hard but then Ward stepped up and said let's do it then GGG changed his mind instantly. A lot of GGG nuthuggers throw around the "avoided" card to defend him but GGG himself ran away from a fight with Ward. That's my whole problem with him. Don't use being "avoided" as an excuse when you turned down the chance to fight a top 3 talent in the sport.

But in this case, one guy is the best 160 in the world (GGG) and the other guy (Canelo) holds the lineal title but never wants to fight at anything above 155. Canelo would've held that belt hostage for a decade if he could but when the WBC put their foot down and made them negotiate, Canelo dropped the belt and went hide behind Oscar.

Pretty much, especially with the elite fighters. That's why I love Segey Kovalev...he's a throwback fighter. Even if he's the better fighter, he'll take less money, go to his opponents home town and gladly knock them the f*ck out.

I believe when he fights Ward in the fall, he's gonna travel to Ward's home in Oakland. Kovalev could've easily demanded the fight be in Vegas, Atlantic City, New York, etc. but he likes destroying people in front of their fans.
