Coincidence that kids who play the recruiting game with LSU, & sign elsewhere.. by Dan Bilzerian

I used to think it was an insignificant thing made up on message boards like this, but lately it is getting hard to ignore.

I don't think LSU is doing something special, and I don't think it really matters if they play the game or not, but if you're an in-state guy that LSU wants and you go elsewhere, there seems to be a significant correlation to character problems down the road.

The more I think about it, the less surprising it actually becomes. Most of these guys are born and raised in LA, and to "spurn" LSU when they want you often indicates that being close to home and your family may not be the biggest priority for you. Let me be clear, leaving this state happens all the time and it certainly isn't a lock that you'll have problems, but when LSU football comes calling, there are very few, if any, situations that are any better for your future.

We pull kids form states all across the country for various reasons, so this isn't some nationwide epidemic, but for whatever reason it seems to bite LA guys in the arse if they leave. I don't believe they're immediately a bad character guy for choosing to go somewhere else, but it seems that their character can certainly lead to that kind of decision.

From someone who has lived other places. LA is surprisingly laid back. The people. Also high school football is a big deal, they all prob got away with a lot in hs. Mode so than you might other places.

These kids come from smaller towns in bumb frick I don't give a frick LA. Those attitudes and culture don't mix well in other places.
