I'm not saying he played great, but the Titans did not give him every chance. Had they traded down in last year's draft and upgraded the O-line, then you can say they gave him every chance. Just because he played doesn't mean they gave him every chance. The Titans have been garbage for years and with Mariota's durability problems, I don't see that changing any time soon.

Only LSU fans would suggest trading down to select lineman to protect Mett over drafting Mariota.
While this is certainly true, it has absolutely nothing to do with a discussion over giving Mett his chance to prove what he's worth. His poor decision making, work ethic, poor accuracy on short throws, and concrete feet got him waived.
He regressed in his second year. He had a 13.6 QBR in 7 games last year. As bad as Matt Cassel was in Dallas, he still had a 33.7 QBR in 9 games, for perspective.
Defend him all you want. Blame the Titans all you want. When given opportunities, he was horribly below average. That's not debatable.
