Yeah but it wouldn't be anymore than 2 consecutive days at a time.

I was just looking for advice. We are doing to trip to the midsection of the country; however, I was just having a probably pipe dream of adding a west coast component to the trip.

Consecutive days like that are rough on two adults, much less children. It is doable, because like I've always told my wife, they can't cry the entire time, right?

Two days of driving for adults will turn into longer with kids. You really need to take more frequent breaks and let them run around a bit, so 5-minute rest area stop turns into 20 minutes or more. Also, plan a little fun time when you stop for the night--30 minutes of pool time or something. This means you probably won't be able to drive as long in one day.

Just warning you that what you plan (no more than 2 days in the car) won't always happen and you may need to adjust your schedule.
