Bream Fishing Around Thunderstorms

I was planning on thinning out the bream population in my ponds on Saturday. Looks like we will have scattered thunderstorms around here all day. This is my only free weekend for a while so I was going to try to fish around the storms. I'm no bream expert (or fishing expert in general). Would it be worth it to try? Or will the storms shut them down like they can do to bass?
