No its not. Nobody is denying that there are a-hole cops out there that commit criminal acts. But to lump every single cop into that category is ridiculous. All im saying is that when a person has a bias against all cops based off of what they see on TV / social media, it adds a level of difficulty to the job. It can be overcome but it takes a person that wants to do the job. Unfortunately, $35k a year doesn't exactly attract quality applicants with a level head and people skills to not only do the job but act as PR for the entire profession.

I'm not lumping every cop into that category but I'm saying there is a reason for the bias. Almost everyone I know has a personal experience with a police officer who doesn't do their job properly. As of 2008 the average salary for a police officer was $52k. Are the good ones underpaid? Yes. Are the bad ones overpaid? Most certainly. The point is, I don't feel sorry for police officers having to be held accountable. Yes they have a tough job but they knew what they were getting themselves into.
