Have the parts of Texas that were in a drought gotten a lot of rain?
most of Texas was in a Severe Drought prior to May of 2015. Then it rained. Damn near every day in May, and there was hardly any spot in drought conditions.
Lake Travis in Austin was quite low; to the tune of 60 feet down. Last week it was back at full pool, roughly 7 years ahead of expectations on when it would happen again.
Houston and it's surrounding areas is particularly wet; I'd rather see this rain (with lesser totals)in Central/SW/and NW Texas where the farmers are.

Wow, crazy event. I fugured trouble was brewing last night when storms started firing along that boundary that was sagging across Houston. I never would've bet on these kinds of totals.

We had a researcher from a state agency come to our office and give a talk on his research. He claimed that Texas was entering a permanent state of drought and that lakes may never return to past levels. Needless to say, I had a hard time taking him seriously.
