It's odd seeing a ship with no railings or visible mooring equipment (capstan, cleats, etc). Looks like everything is contained under the top deck and accessed through portholes.

I'm wondering if the crew is allowed anywhere topside while at sea?

Would definitely like to tour the ship and learn more about the day-to-day shite.

Probably was designed to have a crew of like 3

Yeah, it looks like it would offer the full claustrophobic experience of submarine duty, all while staying afloat on top the water. frick that.
